Product Review: 'Sleek' True Colour Lipstick in Mulberry

I bought this product earlier on today more out of curiosity than anything. It cost me £4.99 from Superdrug, which is pretty reasonable (about mid price for a lipstick in the UK). I usually wear red lipsticks so this was quite different. If you are looking for a deep aubergine lipstick then this is the one for you!

Lipstick in outer packaging (and my bunny!)

The size of the lipstick container was smaller than expected, however the actual lipstick inside was of decent length. I found it difficult to get the lipstick out of the outer packaging because it is covered in a rubbery sort of material (so it did not slide out of the packaging). When I finally got the lipstick out it was presented in a simple black container with the brand name printed in fancy writing on the side.

Lipstick in all its glory.
Lipstick on the hand.
The colour was quite thick after one application but required another in order to get the full colour result. I found it not to be too patchy, but did stain the teeth despite dabbing it!

The finished effect.

As you can see, the colour is very dark which is great if you were looking for the vampy look that is spreading the cat walks at the moment. I would probably save this for going out if I was to wear it. This would look great on darker skin tones as I feel it washed my paler skin out.

Advantages:
- Price not too high
- Creamy
- No bad odour or taste

Disadvantages:
- Slightly patchy
- Stains
- Difficult to remove from outer packaging

Final note:
If you are looking for a deep purple then this will be perfect and depending what sort of look you are going for, maybe try a slightly less harsh shade. I would not wear this just for everyday wear as it is quite striking and too dark. However, the colour is beautiful . I hope you found this review useful!

Introduction to my tattoos

For those who do not know me, I am an avid collector of tattoos.

So far, I have seven tattoos. I will do a post tomorrow including pictures of these.

I have:
- A red rose on my right shoulder. This was initially a 'pink diamond' but I had that covered up.
- An anchor on my right hip.
- A horse and rose on my left thigh. This was also a cover up of a woman's head.
- A stag on my right calf.
- A lighthouse silhouette surrounded by rope on my right shin.
- A ship silhouette surrounded by rope on my left shin.
- A lucky cat on my left foot. (This was by far the most painful!)

I know many people say that you shouldn't get tattoos unless they mean something but to be honest, you can do whatever you want. The only one I could probably put a meaning to is my anchor as this represents stability and strength. In front of the anchor is a small diamond which is my birth stone. Besides that, my other tattoos I have got because they are visually appealing to me. All of them are in colour as I adore bright colours and these show up well on my pale skin. If I wear the correct clothing they are all easy to cover up, particularly for my job.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog!

I am not sure how this will turn out but hey-ho, it is worth a pop!

On here I aim to:
- Talk about my daily life.
- Review any purchases I make.
- Post random stuff.

I hope this is to your taste and any suggestions will be welcome!

Now to introduce myself. I am a 19 year old student nurse at City University in London. I am originally from Peterborough but I am now living in student halls in Clerkenwell, London. I am loving my course and it is certainly something I want to do for the rest of my life, a vocation if you will. I look relatively grumpy in my photo, but I assure you I smile at people in the street and get on with everyone! :-)

I adore the fashion and style of the 1940s and 1950s. Alas, I cannot afford to buy true vintage items from these eras but I do try and recreate the style from later vintage and high street clothes. One of my icons is Dita Von Teese. She is a beautiful woman who is incredibly sexy and she has taught me how to feel good about myself and is also someone to look to for fashion inspiration!

Anyway, that is enough about me for now. I am sure you will begin to learn more about me as I develop this blog! Ta ta for now!
